MARCH - Breaking News

Updated: Apr 14, 2020

In March we had one of our regular assemblers Louise Manico come and give us a very informative talk on Fake News and how to spot it.

Fake news is written and published usually with the intent to mislead in order to damage an agency, entity, or person, and/or gain financially or politically, often using sensationalist, dishonest, or outright fabricated headlines to increase readership. Similarly, clickbait stories and headlines earn advertising revenue from this activity. At least, that's what it says on Wikipedia.

For those of you who missed it, heres a link to Louise's talk.

We also had our lovely committee member Carmel get up and do a super fun quiz all related to fake news. Here's a link to a video of the quiz.
